What is LA Rank?
A directory of websites, organised into categories, where the order of the board is decided by the traffic a site really receives. Visitors are measured by us rather than claimed by the owner, and community signals — upvotes and verified reviews — separate great listings from good ones. The site with the most real visitors in its category sits at the top.
How do I get my site listed?
Create a free account, then add your site from your dashboard with Add New Platform: the root URL, a title, a short pitch, a category and a wide banner image. Paste the tracking snippet into your website and leave it there — it starts counting from the moment the listing is reviewed and approved. There is nothing to pay to be listed. How is the ranking worked out?
Verified unique visitors come first, by a long way. On top of that, signed-up upvotes and reviews from members who actually visited your site help separate listings that are close on traffic. Positions are recalculated on a weekly cycle, so nobody is stuck at the top and nobody is buried for good. We may tune how much each signal is worth as the directory grows — any change applies to every listing at the same time. What nobody can promise is a position: it depends on your traffic against everyone else in your category.
What does it cost?
Listing your site and competing on the board are free, and there is no subscription and no card on file. The wallet exists for optional extras: paid features are funded from your balance as they are released, and every deposit is checked by a person before it counts. How does the tracking pixel count visitors?
It is an invisible 1x1 image that you paste into your own pages. When it loads we record the IP address it came from, the time and which listing it belongs to; a visitor from the same address counts once inside a 12-hour window, so refreshing your own page cannot inflate your count. It measures the traffic arriving at your site — not the clicks we send you. Exactly what is stored is spelled out in the Privacy Policy.
Someone already listed my site — can I claim it?
Yes. Listings that were added from public web data carry an Unclaimed badge and are ranked from an estimate until the owner takes over. Open the listing and choose Claim Platform: we show you a token and ask you to publish a small text file at the root of your domain named exactly topbest-verify.txt containing it. Our server fetches that file, and when it matches, ownership moves to your dashboard so you can install the pixel and switch to a verified rank. The file name is an older identifier kept as-is so sites already publishing it keep working — the claim page always shows the exact name and token to use.
Are the reviews and upvotes real?
A review can only be left by a signed-up member who clicked through to your site within the last 30 days — a Verified Visit — one per member, and it counts only after a moderator publishes it. Upvotes need a confirmed account and each member gets one per platform, so anonymous votes score nothing. If you think a review breaks the rules, dispute it from your reviews page and a person will take another look.
What is the Hall of Fame and the badge?
Every month's top ten is archived into the Hall of Fame, where it stays permanently. Winners and every claimed listing can embed a live rank badge: a 200 x 48 SVG showing your current position, repainted on our side every few hours. The badge is display only — installing it neither helps nor hurts your score.
Can I buy traffic or votes?
No — and it is the fastest way to lose an account. Purchased traffic, fake votes and listings that are not yours are all grounds for suspension, and a balance left on an account closed for cheating is not refunded. Our anti-cheat reads the same records that produce your visitor count, looks for patterns such as one address hitting a listing hundreds of times, and raises a flag for a person to review.
How do I close my account or get help?
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page; that removes the account and the listings under it. For anything else, use the contact page — a person answers, usually within a day. The legal pages are all in the footer: Terms, Privacy and Refunds.
